World Cup Qualifiers – Free Tips

This Friday night sees an exciting match-up between two of South America’s most talented teams as Argentina take on Colombia in World Cup qualifying.

The South American section (CONMEBOL) is an eleven team league where the four highest placed nations qualify automatically for next year’s tournament and the fifth must face a play-off against an Asian country. The Argentines are comfortably on top with five games remaining, while the Colombians are relatively safe in third position with six games still to play. The safety blanket of not having to win this league outright could mean we see a very entertaining game in Buenos Aires as two of the World’s best strikers come head to head.

Lionel Messi has reportedly recovered from a pulled muscle that kept him out of Barcelona’s end of season matches and Radamel Falcao is a certainty to start up front for Colombia. The new £50m Monaco forward was injured for the previous meeting between the sides in Barranquilla, where a late Sergio Aguero strike sealed a 2-1 win for Argentina.

In Argentina’s six home qualifiers, they’ve scored four goals on two separate occasions and managed three goals per game in the last three matches on home soil. When you factor in the prolific scoring rate of Falcao and the likelihood this could be an open, attacking game, then a bet on an Over 2.5 goal result (at 1.83 euro odds – 5/6) seems like a reasonable gamble.

In UEFA qualifying Group A, Belgium and Croatia sit at the top with 16 points each as we go into the final four games. One of those matches will be a crucial showdown in Zagreb as Belgium hope to improve on the 1-1 draw they had with Croatia on home turf back in September.

The Belgians must assume that Scotland will be defeated by Croatia on Friday and so their game against Serbia in Brussels is a must-win match for Marc Wilmots’ men if they want to finish first and claim the the only automatic qualifying spot in Group A.

Apart from that draw, Belgium have won all of their home matches in qualifying, and I would expect them to do the same on Friday evening against a Serbian team they beat 3-0 away in Belgrade last October.

For Belgium to win it’s 1.62 euro odds – 8/13.
