Free Correct Score Tip – Liverpool vs Stoke City

One of the most lucrative forms of football betting is trying to predict the correct score of a particular match. Of course, this type of bet is also highly speculative with no margin for error but, as the returns are so great, only a small stake is required.

There are no hard and fast rules or concrete methods for correct scores; it is more of an interesting little extra to the weekends betting fun. It should always be based on your intimate knowledge of a team you have been following and therefore it is essentially an instinctive bet, although there are some helpful guidelines and patterns you can look out for.

Let’s take a game from this coming weekend as an example. The first match-up that gave me an instinctive feeling on a first glance of the fixtures was Liverpool v Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

Head to head form can be a useful starting point; so the first possibly significant pattern that stood out to me was the fact that Stoke have failed to score on their last three visits to Anfield. Stoke manager, Tony Pulis, likes to play a very unadventurous, counter-attacking, containment type of game when playing away to one of the Premier League’s bigger clubs; as seen in Chelsea’s late 1-0 win over them at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago.

Even though Pulis will be buoyed by Stoke’s 2-0 home win over an out of form Swansea City last weekend, he will be wary of the attacking threat posed by Liverpool after their morale boosting 5-2 win at Norwich.

New Liverpool Boss, Brendan Rodgers, has been attempting to instil a more possession based style into his players this season. They have been playing reasonably well and creating chances but a difficult fixture list has meant the results have not been as positive as he would have liked. Liverpool’s first three games at home have been against Man City, Arsenal and Man United, a sequence of matches that saw them pick up just one point.

The 5-2 away win at Carrow road last Saturday could potentially transform their season though; they have two very winnable home games in succession now in Stoke and Reading and should pick up six points, this will increase the belief in the squad in Rodgers’ new playing philosophy.

Luis Suarez is a man high on confidence at the moment after his hat-trick against Norwich, something Liverpool have desperately needed as the Uruguayan is their solitary world class centre-forward. He could be the man to break the deadlock in what is likely to be a very gritty and hard fought encounter.

1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 to Liverpool are the correct score-lines that first sprung to mind. The 1-0 and 2-0 outcomes for this particular game carry the same odds (6/1 or 7.0 Euro) and only increase on the 3-0 option. When you consider that Stoke have held Arsenal (like Liverpool, they favour a possession based game) to a 0-0 draw at home and only lost 1-0 to Chelsea away, the sensible bet would be 1-0 to Liverpool.
